Our Director
Nancy Silberman Zwiebach has been working with children and families
throughout her professional life. Originally a nurse working with Emotionally
Disturbed children, she decided to pursue a career in Psychology, leading to
both a Master's and Professional Diploma from St. John's University and to
becoming Certified as a School Psychologist.
After working in a very large Early Childhood program, as Assistant Director
as well as Director of the Infant Toddler Program, Nancy went for training
with Jack Canfield (author of the "Chicken Soup" series), becoming Certified
as a Self Esteem Facilitator and doing Motivational Speaking, which she continues
to do for many different types of groups, including educators and parents.
Nancy has been asked to present yearly for such prestigious organizations as
the Association for Schools and Agencies for the Handicapped, the YAI National
Institute for People with Disabilities at their International Conference, and
the New Jersey Association of Jewish Day Schools.
Continuing her education, Nancy was graduated from the Center for Group Studies, where she also served on the faculty. Through this connection, she was invited to present and do group work at a conference of the Eastern European Psychoanalytic Association in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Nancy has worked as a psychotherapist in a high school for girls with learning
disabilities and is the psychologist in a program for special needs children.
She has been working for Bergen County Special Services for four years as part
of a Child Study Team in 6 different schools. Nancy also has a private psychotherapy
practice in which she meets with adolescents and adults doing individual, couples',
family, and group therapy. Her practice also includes Parenting and Life Coaching.
